'Simply Enabling AI Tools Wasn’t Enough to Spread Them Across Dev Teams' — AI Adoption in Hokkoku Bank’s Internet Banking System Development (CCI Group)
Simply providing an environment where AI tools can be used does not, by itself, spread AI adoption across development teams. In the development of Hokkoku Bank's internet banking system for individual customers (CCI Group) as well, usage was initially limited to a handful of AI-curious developers, and AI was not yet embedded throughout the entire development process. This talk introduces how we spread AI adoption across the development teams—starting from AI-driven feature development—in the development of Hokkoku Bank's internet banking system for individual customers (CCI Group). We share what we tried and learned on the ground: AI use in real projects by leading teams, hands-on support for teams just beginning with AI, rollout with a regular AI-promotion meeting as the hub, a shared prompt platform for AI, and the creation and refinement of prompts by each team. How did we lay the groundwork, where did we stumble, and how did we scale it—so that AI use would not stay the personal skill of a few but become part of the development process itself? We share the lessons learned through practice.
