In this session, we introduce next-generation application migration and modernization techniques powered by AI agents that achieve a dramatic time reduction—turning "Years-to-Months" into "Weeks-to-Days." Traditional migration projects demanded enormous effort and time to understand complex dependencies and to design, implement, and verify changes, but recent advances in generative AI and agent technology are fundamentally changing those assumptions. In AI-agent-driven modernization, the agent is used not merely as an "automated conversion tool" but as a "teammate" that provides end-to-end support across assessment, planning, conversion, and build/verification. We walk through practical methods for compressing the lead time of migration and modernization. The approach to modernization also differs between small-scale and large-scale projects. We introduce how to think, act, and proceed in each case.
